Food Jabber

So last night I decided to be sweet and cook *gasp* for Jason.  Well when I say cook, I usually mean what can I mix together and heat up.  But last night, I made rhubarb pork chop bake, cheeeeessssy mashed potatoes, spinach salad, and macaroni & cheese.  Oh yeh- wife of the year award!  I will have to admit, the pork chops were a little too sweet.  The recipe called for rhubarb jelly, brown sugar & cinnamon... maybe a little too much sweetness.  BUT they were oh so tender and yummy!  So maybe next time we will alter the ingredients a tad and re- try.

After saying all of that, I might need to add... I hate cooking.  I do not get pleasure in trying to read a recipe and figure out what goes where and how much, etc.  The smell of raw meat makes me nauseous.  And usually I burn anything to the point on non- existence.  But I try, and Jason really never complains (can't get any better than that!); he may just mention to maybe not do that recipe again :) <--sweet smile.  There have been numerous times when I've tried cooking just to leave everything where it is to go take him out somewhere... safer. I enjoy the idea of cooking and I love partaking in what someone else has prepared but I. just. don't. like. it!

After all the food talk, which is making me hungry again, I did manage to get in a great workout last night.  I was able to get 5 good minutes on the elliptical yesterday before work.  But last night my workout consisted of:   (all to Dancing With the Stars)

  • 20 jumping jacks
  • 20 squats with dumbell raises
  • 20 lunges with booty kick backs
  • 40 wall arm presses- 20 with arms wider than shoulders, 20 with arms the same width as shoulders
  • 20 squats with knee raises
  • 35 sec plank- i suck!
  • 40 bicylce crunches
And finished off with an awesome stretch session after.  Hopped in the shower & got out just in time to watch part 2 of Kim's Fairytale Wedding on E!.  <-- I have a secret obsession with the Kardashians :)
