Bring on the Memories

Today I attended my cousin's wedding.  It was a very emotional day for me.  But I think that becoming a mother somehow ups ALL of your emotions.  I never know when I'll be driving down the road and I hear a word and bam!  the hottness, the tears, the choking.  Um, wow..  Anyhow back to the wedding-  I really do love meaningful weddings.  And this one was sweet.  The officiator was very personable and to the point (big score in my book).  All of the family were present.  And since I mentioned family, I'll spill into our relationships.  There are 5 of us cousins that all grew up in this town.  And we used to go to our great grandmother's house, spend the night, and get away with all sorts of things.  We would play hide and seek outside in the dark, watch movies and just have fun.  Every holiday, major or minor, we had a cookout or get together.  We used to do it all and it was great!  Needless to say, over the years we've all gotten busier, members have passed away and the dynamics of our family aren't quite the same.  But I will never, ever forget the memories I have of our family.  Today's wedding symbolized the last of us cousins to either get married or have kids.  Bittersweet?!  Nah, we are just a growing family :)

The next emotions I had were recent memories.  The last wedding I attended was my brother's and his wife, Whitney.  Whitney is my very best friend and a great person who I am very proud to call my family now.

And the wedding I was at before Justin & Whitney's was my own.  Jason & I had a sweet, country wedding.  Everything really represented us and our lives.  I couldn't have asked for a better day or better people to have been around.  That's been a little over a year now and I'm still happier than ever with that man.  Thanks to him I get to be happy, fiery, sad, and always myself.

It doesn't hurt that I had the cutest date there today, does it?  Of course I had my baby boy as my handsome date!!  Jason lets me be myself, but Will brings out the very best in me.  And even more that I hope to be for that little boy.

  1. I totally agree, Shane and Nicole's wedding was very very sweet. I also thought about our own weddings because it is the same exact time of year and as you've just had your 1 year anniversary, we're coming up on ours and I'm truly excited. I never really thought it'd be a big deal to me BUT IT IS!!! Can't wait to celebrate my 1 year with your brother. He truly is the Love of my life and You my dear, are the best friend I could've ever asked for! man we're lucky folks, huh?
